When you are having headaches periodically, it may be as a result of coffee you are drinking. This is because there is a high probability that those who are drinking coffee have migraines than those who don't drink it. This usually happens to those who drink more than 3 cups of coffee per day. Apart from coffee, those who drink other caffeinated beverages such as carbonated beverages, tea, and energy drinks may also have headaches. According to Dr. Robert H. Shmerling, a lot of researches are going on to confirm the link between migraine headaches and caffeine consumption. 

3. Increased anxiety levels

Consumption of coffee (and other caffeine related drinks) speeds up your central nervous system, said Kelli McGrane RD. With this, drinking of more than 2 cups of coffee can result in higher levels of anxiety in people who are not sensitive to coffee. This can make you feel shaky and even notice nausea and racing-heart. Some of the natural effects of caffeine in the body include increased breathing rate, increased heart beating rate and increased body temperature; all which mimic anxiety. It is better to reduce coffee consumption or even avoid coffee altogether if you already have anxiety. 

4. Disrupted sleep quality

If you are the type that do drink coffee and you are having a hard time sleeping at night, you may have to stop drinking coffee. According to a research, you may find it difficult to sleeping when you drink coffee about 6 hours before bedtime. 

5. Reduced fertility

According to different studies, it has been confirmed that the consumption of excessive amounts of coffee can lead to infertility because it can prevent conception. It can also boost the probability of having miscarriages in marriage. In other study, there has been no actual reason as to why too much consumption of alcohol can reduce fertility. However, to be on a safer side, you should reduce your coffee intake when you are pregnant or while trying to get pregnant. According to experts, the consumption of less than 20 mg of caffeine should have little or no impact on fertility. This is the same as having 2 different 8-ounce cups of coffee.
