Breast Cancer Awareness - All You Need To Know

It is no doubt that you have run across many days of cancer awareness programs and sessions that have appeared around the country. Most of this awareness is put on by local groups of people, churches, or some government and non-governmental organizations. Why must you increase your breast cancer awareness level? You need to increase your awareness level because of the benefits in store for you. Going by the statistics available by the reported cases of breast cancer, it was shown that there are more than 200,000 diagnosed cases and it is scary that more than 40,000 of those people will die from the breast cancer.

Now, the scarier fact – it is shown that not only women are affected by breast cancer. This is the fact! It was estimated that there are almost 1600 cases of breast cancer in men every year of which almost 400 of them will die. This is exactly why breast cancer awareness is important to you and I. This type of statistics should make breast cancer awareness be promoted widely.

Despite this scary statistics, many people still don't take this awareness serious because we still have many people who have not had a medical exam or run a check-up for over 4,5, ten years or even more. For you to take your health so serious, regular medical exams and check-ups must be done by a medical professional or doctor. One sure way is to increase your level of breast cancer awareness because, currently, there is no known cure for it.
The best option to fight breast cancer is to get an early diagnosis of the disease and early detection. With early detection, you will be able to fight it with the use of treatments like chemo (there are many people who have beat cancer with this type of treatment), and you will be able to cope with it. But there will be a different outcome if it were not being detected and diagnosed so earlier. If you have done the medical check-up for over 4 to 5 years, then this will be a different story as the breast cancer would have been developed and it won't be categorized as an early stage diagnosis. This could lead to a casualty from breast cancer!

One part of the awareness program is to have a deep understanding of the typical symptoms of breast cancer. With the knowledge of those symptoms, if any of them is detected, you should then schedule a check-up with your medical professional or doctor as soon as possible as this will help you find a solution to it by preventing the disease from growing. For women that fall between the age of 18 to about 40, a scheduled mammogram check-up must be planned with your doctor every 2 to 3 years. Whereas for women above 40 years of age, they should have planned a mammogram check-up with their doctors at least once a year. Though not yet confirmed totally that breast cancer could be hereditary, you might want to schedule having more check-ups a year if you have found out that there is a history of breast cancer in your family trend. Having these statistics in mind, you should increase your level of breast cancer awareness with these regular checkups at the front of your mind.

One of the most frightening illness is breast cancer, and that's why it is very important to take critical steps for its prevention. One woman is diagnosed with breast cancer with a mammogram every 29 seconds, and for every 75 seconds, one woman dies from breast cancer worldwide, and this is one of the reasons why people fear this breast cancer more than any other disease. This is because they think there is nothing they can do to it and they feel powerless and don't understand how powerful this awareness and prevention strategies are.

To reduce osteoporosis, you add calcium to your diet with a lot of exercises or get enough vitamin D – most women know this; also, reducing cholesterol intake and also get some exercise to reduce heart attack is known by most women; but most women don't know what they can do to prevent breast cancer from happening, and the good news is that there is a lot of things they can do to prevent the growth of breast cancer ribbons in their breast. An example is to make sure there is a presence of vitamin D in their diet. The presence of this vitamin and other types helps to reduce the risk of having several types of cancers – lung cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer.

The breast cancer awareness program comes up in October. It is highly important to have a better understanding of everything about breast cancer and to caution other people to take precautionary measures against it. This is done by learning about the risk factors and by taking persistent exams from your medical professional or doctor. It is important to know that there are millions of women in the world who are not fully aware of the breast cancer and may not have access to early detection and preventive care.

People are getting involved in the breast cancer awareness and are educated about it with the use of buttons, pink ribbons, apparel and other small or large items. These items are very important as they help people keep breast cancer in mind. They also use umbrellas as breast cancer awareness program most especially for the upcoming rainy season.
The pattern in each umbrella is a cute, simple, and a stylish pink-and-white pattern with a meek pink ribbon imprinted on one of the white stripes.

Make sure you improve your breast cancer awareness level and don't forget to go for mammogram check-ups. Take note of any of the symptoms when they appear and make sure you get an exam too. In case you know anybody fighting with breast cancer, love and care for them, let them have faith and increase their hope of survival. Always remember that the best chance of fighting breast cancer is early detection of the disease and early diagnosis – Go for check-ups!
